Mastro on your phone: install it, use it offline

Mastro's real workplace is a customer's bathroom, not a desk. The phone version is the same app — installed from the browser in ten seconds, and built to survive the place every contractor knows: the basement with no signal.

Mastro installed on a phone home screen, with the offline quote queue waiting to sync

Install it from the browser

No app store, nothing to download:

  • Android / Chrome: the app offers Add to home screen — accept, done.
  • iPhone / Safari: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

You get a home-screen icon and a full-screen app. Because it's the deployed web app, it's always current — there are no updates to install. Once it's on your phone, turn on push notifications so a signed quote buzzes your pocket.

What works with no signal

The part that matters most offline is the part built for it: capturing a quote. Measurements, scope, materials, pricing — all of it runs on the device. The AI room render needs connectivity, and the rest doesn't wait for it.

App pages that show live business data (the board, the inbox) do need a connection — deliberately. Mastro never keeps your business data cached on a device, so a shared or lost phone never shows one org's jobs to the next person who opens it.

The offline quote queue

Sign a quote in that no-signal basement and Mastro queues it on the device — a chip shows "1 quote waiting to sync". Back on signal, it saves itself. Two guarantees behind that chip:

  • It only replays under you. A queued quote saves only under the same sign-in that captured it — signing out, or someone else using the device, never files your quote into the wrong place.
  • It never guesses. If a save was interrupted mid-flight and Mastro can't be sure it didn't already land, the quote is held with a retry button instead of being resent blindly — so nothing is ever saved twice behind your back.

One more offline courtesy

If you open a public Mastro page with no connection, you get a proper offline page rather than a browser error — and everything above means the workflow that earns money, quoting on site, never depends on the basement's reception.

Frequently asked

Is there an app-store app I should download instead?

You don't need one. Installing from the browser gives you the full app — home-screen icon, full screen, offline quote capture, push notifications. It's the same Mastro, always current, no updates to install.

I quoted in a basement with no signal — is the quote gone?

No. A quote captured with no connection is queued on your device — you'll see a 'waiting to sync' chip — and saves itself when you're back online, as long as you're still signed in on that device.

Why does the queued quote say it couldn't sync?

When Mastro can't be certain a save didn't already go through, it stops and asks instead of guessing — an automatic retry could save the quote twice. Tap retry once you're on stable signal; you stay in control.
