Your first week in Mastro

You don't learn Mastro by reading — you learn it by running one real week through it. Here's the order that gets you paid back fastest. The finish-setup checklist on your dashboard tracks the same steps.

The first-week path: five numbered steps from pricing setup to the daily board habit

Day 1 — Set the numbers everything is built on

Open Settings → Pricing and set your labour rate honestly — every quote price is built on it, so this comes before anything else. Then how pricing and buffers work is ten minutes well spent: quote confidently only comes from knowing where the number comes from.

While you're in Settings, decide your deposit policy — percentage and threshold — so your first signed quote already asks for commitment.

Day 2 — Connect your channels

Settings → Connections: link WhatsApp, email and bexio if you use it. From that moment your inbox fills itself and your accounting stays in step — this is the step that turns Mastro from an app into your system of record.

Add your people in Team and share each person's personal link — hours, photos and their week, no login. If you have procedures worth writing down, set up SOPs while you're there. Ten minutes now, and "where am I Monday?" phone calls stop.

Day 4 — Win a quote on-site

The heart of it: create your first visual quote standing in a real customer's bathroom. Photo, scope, materials, render, price — and ideally a signature before you leave. Your first one takes 10–15 minutes; by the third you'll be near five.

Day 5 — Adopt the two daily habits

Everything else is a habit of glancing at two screens:

  • The board — keep every job's card where the job really is. Ten seconds of drag keeps the forecast honest and the follow-ups visible.
  • The inbox — triage the unknowns, answer from one place. The unanswered-customers filter is your follow-up list, and follow-up is where jobs are won.

Then plan the coming week in the scheduler — your crew get their assignments automatically.

Frequently asked

How much time does the first week actually take?

Setup is about an hour total, spread over the week. The rest happens inside work you're already doing — quoting a job, answering messages, planning the week. Mastro replaces the evening admin; it doesn't add to it.

Do I have to do it in this order?

No — the order just front-loads what pays off fastest. The one hard dependency: set your labour rate before your first real quote, because it's the number every price is built on.

What if my team is just me?

Skip day 3. Everything else works exactly the same solo — and the crew setup takes ten minutes whenever your first hire starts.
