Connecting bexio isn't a one-off import — it's an ongoing sync that keeps your board and your accounting telling the same story. This article explains the rules it follows, because most "why did / didn't X happen?" questions are one of these rules working as intended.
What syncs, and how often
Every few hours, Mastro pulls your bexio contacts, quotes and invoices. Contacts land in your contact list with bexio as their source; quotes and invoices attach to projects on the board. It also works the other way: quotes you close in Mastro are filed to bexio, and deposit invoices are created there when a signed quote requests one.
"Nothing happened yet" usually means the next run hasn't come round.
Invoices fold into the job — they don't become new cards
An invoice belongs to the job it bills. The sync matches each invoice to its quote's project and folds it in — the project moves to Invoiced and carries the payment badge. You never get a second card for the same job just because the paperwork has two documents.
Draft invoices don't count
An invoice still in draft ("Entwurf") is skipped, like a cancelled one. Only an actually issued invoice moves a job — so preparing paperwork in bexio never makes the board claim something was billed when it wasn't.
The first import is deliberately modest
On first connect, Mastro pulls documents touched in the last 30 days — your live work, not your archive. It also runs one-time hygiene so the board starts clean: already-paid work is filed as archived, and quotes that have sat unanswered for over 45 days are marked lost rather than pretending to be live deals. After that first import, every sync covers the full set.
Your edits win
The sync is non-destructive. A project you've touched in Mastro — renamed, moved, edited — is never overwritten by bexio data. If the two ever disagree, what you did by hand stands.
If something looks off
Give it a few hours first — the sync runs on a schedule, not instantly. If a connection problem is the cause, the bexio card in Settings → Connections will say so: see fixing connection problems.
